Video Loss from NVR

  • Disconnect, reconnect power and video cables to NVR.
  • Change power supply connected to NVR.
  • Disconnect HDD and boot NVR. If NVR boots without HDD, then HDD has failed or is not compatible.
  • Connect a 1080P display to the NVR. If image is displayed, initial display is not compatible with NVR.
  • If connected via HDMI, ensure that the display is 1080P capable.

NVR does not boot

  • Disconnect, reconnect power and video cables to NVR.
  • Disconnect HDD and boot NVR. If NVR boots without HDD, then HDD has failed or is not compatible.

NVR randomly rebooting

  • Disconnect HDD and boot NVR. If NVR boots without HDD, then HDD has failed or is not compatible.
Record Schedule

Unable to Playback Recordings

  • Check that HDD is detected by NVR
  • "Record Status" is set to, "Enabled" on all channels
  • Check, "Record Schedule" and ensure your desired recording is enabled; Motion, Schedule, or Alarm Recording.
  • Recorded file has been overwritten

Video Feed Distorted When Playing Back Video

  • Video quality is set too low. Check Encoding
  • Program read error, bit data is too small. Reboot the NVR.
  • HDD malfunction. Try formatting the HDD
  • NVR hardware malfunction. Flash the latest compatible firmware for your system.

Time and Date is Incorrect

  • Ensure Date and Time are set properly in the NVR. See: Date and Time
  • Internal battery voltage too low. Replace internal battery.
  • Crystal is broken.

NVR Cannot Control PTZ

Please Note: IP and HD-CVI PTZs do not require an RS458 cable. Controls are sent over the RG59 or CAT5 cable.

  • Front panel PTZ error
  • PTZ decoder setup, connection or installation is not correct.
  • Cable connection is not correct.
  • PTZ setup is not correct.
  • PTZ decoder and NVR protocol is not compatible.
  • PTZ decoder and NVR address is not compatible.
  • When there are several decoders, please add 120 Ohm between the PTZ decoder A/B cables furthest end to delete the reverberation or impedance matching. Otherwise the PTZ control is not stable.
  • The distance is too far.

Unable to Login from Web Browser

  • For Windows 98 or Windows ME user, please update your system to Windows 2000 sp4. Or you can install client-end software of lower version. Please note right now, our NVR is not compatible with Windows VISTA control.
  • ActiveX control has been disabled.
  • No dx8.1 or higher. Please upgrade display card driver.
  • Network connection error.
  • Network setup error.
  • Password or user name is invalid.
  • Client-end is not compatible with NVR program.
