Solution

Is the PTZ camera plugged directly into the NVR?

The PTZ camera must not be plugged into the NVR. It must be plugged into a network switch, router, or POE switch.

PTZ camera is plugged into a network switch, router, or POE switch and it is not getting an ip address

Make sure the camera is either getting a 12v 3a power source or is being plugged into a POE switch and is in the same network as the NVR

PTZ protocol to be used

As the PTZ IP camera is a Dahua PTZ platform using Private (proprietary protocol) will not work. The camera must be added using the ONVIF protocol.

Model of Dahua PTZ IP cameras

LNZ44P12SB, LNZ44P4B and others

Customer wants to use the PTZ IP in the POE ports of the NVR

Advise that due to compatibility it is not recommended and to use Ethernet/POE switches externally.

Some functionality from the PTZ IP camera doesn’t work

Not all functionality will work as the camera is using ONVIF. Basic PTZ functionality will work though.

Power adapter used to power the camera

It is recommended to use a 12v 3a power source to power the camera if the customer is not using a external POE switch to power the camera.
