Step by Step Instructions

1. Connect the NVR to the display and power it on.

2. Enter Password - You will be prompted to change the default admin password. Make sure it's at least 8 characters long and contain letters, numbers, and symbols. (At least two of the three types.)

3. Unlock Pattern - Alternatively, you can unlock the recorder with a pattern to avoid having to type in the password. Click and drag on the circles to draw your pattern and re-draw the pattern to complete the setup.

4. Password Protection - Input an E-mail address to be able reset the password. Answer the security questions to complete the password protection setup.

Warning - RMA is the only option if you forget your password, and skip this step.

5. End-User License Agreement - Read through the End-User License Agreement, when ready check the agreement box to enable "Next".

6. Firmware Updates - Check the "Enable auto detect" box to automatically check the latest firmware.

7. General Settings - You can set common general settings here. Click on "Apply" then "Next" when finished.

8. Date and Time - Make sure to properly set up your time zone to assure accurate time readings. You can also configure Daylight Saving Time (DST). When finished click on "Apply" and then click "Next" to proceed.

9. TCP/IP - To edit the IP Address on the recorder's NIC click on the pencil icon. You can now set a Static IP or enable DHCP to let the recorder grab an IP Address from the network, once done click "OK" and then "Next" to finish the setup.

10. Remote Access - P2P (Easy4IP): By checking this box, it will connect you to Dahua's P2P server and will allow you to remote to your device. If TCP/IP was set properly for your network, the status will show as "online".

NOTE The QR code on the left will direct you to the smartphone application. The QR code on the right will allow you scan the SN of your device.

11.Camera Registration - To initialize the device from the NVR check the camera(s) that you want and click on "Initialize" - Keep the box checked if you want to sync the password and E-mail to the camera and click on "Next"

Modify the IP Address and click on "Next" - Wait for the initialization to finish and the "Finished" button will activate, click on it to proceed.

Check the camera you just initialized and click on "Add"

This guide shows how to adjust the Device Date & Time and adjust Daylight Savings Time settings for a Dahua Recorder at the SystemUI with the OldGUI

1. From the Main Menu, select System

2. From the General menu

Click the Date & Time tab

3. The Date & Time interface will be displayed

The System Time can be adjusted by clicking inside the fields. The GMT offset can be adjusted by clicking and using the drop-down box

4. Check the box to enable DST

• DST Type - Week or Date.
  • Week - Set DST adjustment for a specific calendar week
  • Day - Set DST adjustment for a specific day

The Start / End Time can be adjusted as desired using the interface

• Daylight Saving Time starts on the second Sunday in March
• Daylight Saving Time ends on the first Sunday in November
• Time is adjusted at 02:00 am local time
• Time moves forward from 02:00 am > 03:00am at the start of DST
• Time moves back from 02:00 am to 01:00 am at the end of DST

5. Click Apply once all changes have been made

2. Select Remote Device ➞ Select Device Search

You can also get to this selection by right clicking on any view which will show a sub menu for remote device search.

3. Check mark cameras to be added ➞ Select add.

You can also manual add cameras by selecting manual add

Input IP address of IP Camera, user name and password. Default user name and password is admin.

Depending on the model recorder you can also do a smart search from the main sub menu.

Description

Dahua NVRs and DVRs offer a variety of recording options. You can configure recording schedules based on the following methods:

• Regular
• Motion Detection
• Alarm Based
• Motion Detection + Alarm
• IVS if the feature is available depending on the model.

These schedules can be set individually for each camera or copied to all cameras.

2. Click, "Schedule" on the left hand side.

3. Click the Gear icon to the right of any of the graphs.

Description

Use Motion recordings to secure your home, business or building in which it records any movement on the video. Generally used when someone is on your property that isn't authorized at your home, business or building. It also saves HDD space when set to motion recording only.

Prerequisites

• A NVR that is connected to the internet.
• An IPC that is connected to the NVR.
• Up to date firmware for both systems.

Set up Motion recording via local recorder

1. From the Main Menu Select "Event"

2. Select Motion Detect

3. Choose the channel(s) to set motion and check off enable.

4. Select region to adjust the sensitivity of each part of the scene. By default the whole scene is set up to detect motion. Each color corresponds to a zone in which you can set each of the zones motion detection sensitivity and threshold.

5. Select Period "Setup" to set time and days motion is to be set to.

• Select Setup.

• Select the time period and days motion is to detect and record -> Click on Save.

• Select Ok to save

6. Check off record channel and choose which cameras are to record motion events.

7. Select Apply and Save.

8. Select Storage.

9. Check off MD(Moition Detection)

10. Select the settings icon.

• Here you can set the times and days motion detection is to record. Check off MD (motion detection). Select all or the day motion detection is to be recorded -> Select save.

11. It will show yellow for the days and times you set motion to -> Click apply and ok to save settings.

This article will cover how to configure an IVS Tripwire Alarm on a Dahua recorder with the Old SystemUI

Prerequisites

• IP Camera with IVS added to an NVR, with the Old SystemUI, or an HDCVI Camera that is connected to a HDCVI DVR, with the Old SystemUI, that has IVS

Step By Step Instructions

1. From the Main Menu select "Event" in the "Setting" section

2. Select "Smart Plan" on the left.
Then select the camera channel at the top.
Select and highlight "IVS" (You may need to deselect any other options).
Select "Apply" and then "OK"

3. Select "IVS" on the left.
Then choose the channel number at the top.
Select "Add" at the bottom to create a new IVS alarm rule.
Click on the drop-down menu under "Type" for the new rule you created and change set it to "Tripwire".
Select the Pencil icon under "Draw"

4. Left click anywhere on the camera view to start the tripwire line.
Left click anywhere else on the camera view to complete the segment of the line. Continue moving your mouse and left clicking to continue making multiple segments of the tripwire line.
When done drawing the line segments, right click to finish the line.
Give this rule a name by selecting the text box next to "Name" and typing in a name.
Select the drop-down menu next to "Direction" to choose if the IVS alarm is triggered in both directions ("Both") or just one direction ("A To B" or "B To A")

5. When you are done configuring the Tripwire rules, select "OK".

6. Select the Gear icon under "Trigger" to configure what happens when the tripwire alarm is triggered:
Period - Sets the time and days of the week this alarm can be triggered
Alarm Out - Sets alarm outputs that will be activate when this alarm is triggered
Latch - Sets how long the alarm outputs will stay activated when the alarm is triggered
Send Email - Sends an email, via the settings set in the Email section of the Network settings on the recorder, when the alarm is triggered
Record Channel - Sets which channels are recorded when the alarm is triggered
PTZ Activation - Sets the behavior of a PTZ camera connected to the same recorder when the alarm is triggered
Post-Record - Sets the amount of seconds that are recorded after the alarm event is done being triggered, if "Record Channel" is enabled
Tour - Enables a tour when the alarm is triggered
Buzzer - Makes the recorder emit an audible beeping noise when the alarm is triggered
Log - Records the event information in the system log when the alarm is triggerd

Select "Apply" to save the settings

7. Select "Apply" to save the Tripwire IVS alarm settings

1. From the Main Menu click, "Search"

2. On the right hand side, there will be a calendar. Click on the day that you wish to play back video.

• Days that are shaded a lighter color blue have recordings.
• Days that are dark blue do not have recordings.

3. Double click on the graph below to begin playing back video.

3. Use the dropdown box to select the Channel(s) for search

4. Use the interface to enter the date range for the search

8. Left click any of the events for playback/review

1. From the Main Menu select "Back Up"

2. Plug in USB device such as a flash drive in to one of the USB ports of the recorder.

3. A pop up will show → Select "File Back up"

4. Select "Browse" → Select folder to save back file in or create new folder to save back up.

5. Select "Type" such as Alarm or MD (Motion Detect).

6. Select "Start Time" and "End Time".

7. Select "Channel" → "Add" to add what you have selected. What you added will be in list form.

8. Select "Start" to start back up.

1. Right click from Live View to access the Main Menu

Click Network under Setting

Click Email

2. Check Enable → Input SMTP Server → and required port number. In this case Gmail (stmp.gmail.com) is being used; the required port number for SSL gmail encryption is 465. Please note depending on the email you are using the SMTP and port will be different. You may use this link to reference the SMTP for your email along with what ports can be used. If a company email is being used you will need to contact your IT department for the SMTP information.

3. Input User, which is the email you are using.  e.g. xxxx@xmail.com → input password of email you are using. 

4. Input Reciever e.g. xxxx@xmail.com → Sender e.g. xxxx@xmail.com. Input a different email for receiver and sender (Must not be the same email) → Input Subject for the email header when you receive the email notification → Check "Attachment" for attachments such as motion detect snapshots. 

5. Input Encrypt type that corresponds to the port number that is provided in the link above → input interval → select test to verify it works. It will prompt if test has succeeded or failed. You should see a "Mail Test" notification in your email.

6. Before the next steps, ensure "Enable" is check marked. Click "Apply" → "Save" to save settings.
